I've owned the CK-800 for about 6 months. I have used it for three gigs. Each and every time, right at about 6 hours one of the cd decks won't read any cd I put into it.

I have to quickly switch the power off, then on, then seem things to go back to normal. (Just what you wanted to do at the end of a long set... Silence)

I have ripped the unit appart, and tried resoldering all the boards with no luck. The unit does seem to get very hot, I'm wondering if this could be an issue? Think I might run a fan on it at the next gig

I havn't got a hold of tech support yet, but I will post my fiding if i do resolve the problem.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them with this unit or with the 1000??

FIXED:: UNIT OVERHEATING

If you plan to use the unit for serious gigs you want to install a fan inside it. My unit would overheat after 6 hours each and every gig. But not to fear, this is done very easily

Wire a small 12V computer fan into the power supply board at the front right of the unit

Then place it right under cd1's board w some tie raps.

Also,if you want to use it as control cd's with torq or serrato you can mod it like I did:

I have the red wire and two blacks running from each cd'j, to the output jacks which i installed at the bottom right

So... out of the factory, the unit is a little scetchy, but now with the mods, i've built it into one kick ass unit.

DO NOT do THE FAN Mod. At least from where I said to hook it up. Need to find new source for the POWER...

*** You can use a regulare 4" fan from a power supply. Cut off the Yellow wire if there is one. Tie it into a 9-12V DC Adaptor. Low Output min is 210ma.

Blow it in threw the left hand side. Secure fan with it able to breath.

*** This method has been tested at my last
Loft Jam. Unit ran smooth all night AAA+++

This is much simpler for you Dj Space kid. It was such a relief to have it run smooth all night. now just gotta figure out how to get power to the fan inside ????

Thanks Willie but I decided to Get Numark's NS7, I'll keep the CK-1000 for back up though...I don't want to mess with the wires and all that stuff inside this unit, I might mess it up.
