ok so ive had my cdi-500's and qd5 mk2 mixer for over a year.
one of them was having trouble unloading cd's when i try to eject them, ive since fixed that myself. the qd5 mk2 had a problem on the line 2 were it would just hiss, but again fixed that too... the other cdi 500 on the other hand does something funny. it will load the cd fine, it ejects fine, but it stalls when it reads disks...now and then it might load 1 track on 1 disk in a few seconds, but 90% of the time it just stalls for either 20 seconds plus, or doesn't load the track at all...just sits there...and when i try to eject after its stalled it comes up error, and i have to keep pressing eject until it comes out. this problem occurs with both mp3 cd's and regular cd's. ive had a look at it myself, cleaned the laser, checked all the connections and made sure the screws are in tight (but not tight enough to thread) i have a sneaking suspicion its the cd motor mechanism, because it makes the odd random noise while loading while the other cdi-500 doesn't, might not be spinning fast enough, not sure... anyway lemme know what you think, and if you have a fix.. |

hi, I have the same problem on one of mine. It'll take a long time before it'll say no disc but I know that there is one there because I just loaded one. One time it took 15 mins of me loading and ejecting just to get the cd to play. I do too hear a funny noise coming from this unit but not from the other. One time also I just tapped on the unit and it read it, so give that a try. I wouldn't risk doing it myself, I'd rather much spend the $ and get warranty on it and have it repaired at a authorized dealer.
